A historic event occurred in the seventeenth century, relates the famous character of the second part of Don Quixote, Roque Guinart, with Barbera hospital.
Roque Guinart was the famous outlaw’s side of the “nyerros” Perot Roca Guinarda, and was required to Barberà 1609 by the Grand Prior, Fra Miquel d’Alentorn to repress the lord of Vallespinosa, Rafael de Biure, who had tried to usurp the Lordship of Vallverd.
